Artist Alden Bryan founded the Mary Bryan Memorial Gallery in 1984, as a tribute to the memory of his wife, artist Mary Bryan. The gallery exists to promote excellence in the visual arts, within an atmosphere that fosters the growth and development of the spirit of art in our community.
Since the death of Alden Bryan in 2001, Bryan Memorial Gallery was renamed to reflect the appreciation of the community that knew them - their friends and neighbors and fellow artists - for both artists – Mary and Alden Bryan. Subsequently, a larger community of artists, art patrons and thousands of annual visitors to the gallery have come to know Mary and Alden Bryan through their artwork, and through the work of Bryan Memorial Gallery.
Bryan Memorial Gallery is a non-profit institution, which maintains a permanent collection, a year long schedule of changing exhibitions, and offers workshops and programs that nurture appreciation of and education in the visual arts.
