A three day workshop with plein air painter T.M. Nicholas
Wednesday – Friday, October 15, 16, 17 2008
Master landscape painter T. M. Nicholas will present a three day workshop entitled Painting with T. M. The workshop will include two plein air painting sessions per day, for three days, and will culminate in an evening session on the third day, discussing the artwork in progress, and the experience of painting in plein air.
The painting locations, selected by Nicholas, will change each day, with a morning session and an afternoon session at each place. Nicholas will paint along side the participants, offering commentary during each session.
Born in Rockport, Massachusetts, T. M. Nicholas grew up admiring the rugged beauty of the northeast coastline of the United States. He quickly grew to appreciate the unique landscapes of New England. His father, esteemed painter, Tom Nicholas offered advice to help T. M. develop his own individual style and become the recognized plein air painter in oils that he is today.
T. M. studied under John Charles Terelak at the Gloucester Academy of Fine Arts. He also studied under Boston area artist George Gabin at Monserrat School of Art, with emphasis on realistic painting and drawing.
T. M. Nicholas is a member of Rockport Art Association, Guild of Boston Artists, Whiskey Painters of America, Hudson Valley Artists, Allied Artists of America, Academic Artists, American Artists Professional League, New England Watercolor Society, and the North Shore Arts Association. His paintings are in many museum and private collections.
Artists in any medium are welcome, though T.M.’s expertise is in the field of painting with oils. Artists at any stage of their development are welcome, though all participants should expect to start at least three paintings during the workshop.
Participants are responsible for their own art materials and their own meals and accommodations. A light meal will be provided on the last evening of the workshop.
A list of suggested materials in oil medium will be provided upon receipt of your registration, as well as a list of recommended local accommodations.
A more specific schedule will also be sent in response to your registration.
Fee: $325 for three days. Full payment expected with registration. Attendance is limited, so please register early. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Cancellation policy: In the event you need to cancel your registration, please do so before October 6, 2008. Your registration fee will be refunded, minus $25 for handling expenses. Refunds will not be made after October 6.
